Hemispristis Serra

Amazing!!! These fossilized teeth come from an amazing Prehistoric Shark. Their teeth would stab, tear, cut, saw, and slice, through tendons, flesh and bone, and even paralyze their prey while devouring them. Experts all agree that the Red Sea a.k.a. Snaggletooth Shark was the longest living Prehistoric Shark. Surviving, amazingly, two major extinction periods, their teeth hold the secret to their long existence. They lived in the Miocene period through the Pliocene period and struggled into the Pleistocene period before going extinct. They reached a length of 7 feet and thrived throughout planet earth when they and many other species of sharks went extinct during the late ice age. As the earth was being pulled farther and farther away from the sun by the giant outer planets gravitational pull the ice caps seasonal melting of snow slowed down and stopped causing the ice caps at North and South poles to increase in frozen water content and shrinking the oceans. As a result the salt content rose to a level that became too harsh for the seas to support much of the life causing a major extinction event. Our Prehistoric Hemispristis Serra Shark teeth fossils come from archaeological digs from around the world. Once excavated, Undug, they are cleaned and polished with painstaking precision, dated and prepared. It is then the jewelers job to craft these rare fossils into pendants. Hemispristis Serra left us many different sizes and shapes of fossilized teeth. A certificate of authenticity accompanies each fossilized shark tooth pendant giving the age, continent of origin, species, rarity, period of existence, and the precious metal it is crafted in.
